My Nuclear Dream
Upcycled garments like socks and discarded leather motorcycle jackets tell a story about trauma and female strength. Inspired by anime akira and belladonna of sadness, the collection showcases odd silhouettes like a big bell like skirt that resembles a nuclear explosion, motorcycle outfits which are sporty, made from deconstructed socks and leg chaps that were designed from sleeves. All upside down and playful, in animated colors, atomic red, russian blue contrasting with padded cotton fabrics and layered with lace. Inside the cropped motorjacket there is an elaborated hand embroidered teddy from the anime movie akira.
